Mary Shelley's Frankenstein 1994 film adaptaion is true to the general feeling of the book. However many liberties are taken tin the movie that are not actually expressed in the book. The scenery and characters seem to be similar in nature. Yet, some are brought into the story at different times in the movie than in the book. Henrey Clerval for example in the book grows up with Elizabeth and Victor, yet in the movie Victor meets Henrey in college. The movie however keeps Henry's personality as being up beat and slighty lofty.
One of the biggest things I believe is different between the movie and the book is Victor bringing Elizabeth back to life, with Justin'es body. In the book I do not believe Victor would even consider this, yet in the movie the character felt that there was no other option. Also, Walton reaching out to the monster in the end of the movie was very shocking to me. In the book Victor has Walton promise that should he come across the monster he would kill him, Walton swore he would. In the movie no such promise is made which was ok to me, but the blatant disregard for the intentions of the book disturbed me.
I enjoyed the book and movie very much. As far as a film adaptation goes I believe this is pretty good. It does not completely stick to the books plot, but I believe the mood and tone were very similar. I was ultimately pleased with the film.

i enjoyed the book more than the movie. for me the movie was just far to violent. i find it difficult to get the visions of death out of my head. i agree with you that i don't think Victor would have used the head of Justine in making the mate for the being.
